The YWCA (Young Women’s Christian Association) states:
“A woman has the right to choose in the matter of abortion based on her own religious and ethical beliefs and her physician’s guidance.
The YWCA is opposed to mandatory parental consent.”
GIRL’S INC.
“Girl’s, Inc. supports a woman’s freedom of choice, a constitutional right established by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 in Roe vs. Wade.”
UNICEF in connection with the World Bank, WHO, IPPF, Population Council signed on to the following statement called the Year of Safe Motherhood.
“… reform law and policies to support women’s reproductive health and improve access to family planning, health and abortion related services.”
THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS states:
“The League joined in an amicus brief to uphold a woman’s right of privacy to make reproductive choices in the case of Webster vs. Reproductive Health Services.”
THE NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (NEA) supports family planning, including the right to reproductive freedom.
SALVATION ARMY:
In 1986 the Salvation Army wrote:
“Termination of a pregnancy may be justified in those rare instances where in the judgment of competent medical and allied staff the pregnancy poses a serious threat to the life of the mother or could result in irreversible physical injury to the mother and in those instances of rape or legally defined incest or where reliable diagnostic procedures determine that a fetal anomaly is present which is incompatible with postnatal survival for more than a few weeks or where there is total or virtual absence of cognitive function.”
SIERRA CLUB is a prochoice organization.
NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION:
“There are no code words nor hidden agendas here. NWF supports international family planning assistance because it is a factor in helping slow soaring birth rates that are rapidly overwhelming the natural resources needed to support people and wildlife alike.”
EARTH DAY: Their magazine had an article in it titled A Week in the Life of Gloria Feldt, President of Planned Parenthood, praising her work and raising money to keep abortion on demand.
THE NATIONAL AUDUBON SOCIETY: They are concerned about having safe abortions.
AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS: “For two decades the AAP has been on record as supporting the access of minors to all options regarding undesired pregnancy, including the right to obtain an abortion.”
